Membership is open to former uniformed personnel, whether whole or part-time, who have
retired, or were discharged (other than on grounds of having committed an offence or
misdemeanor) from fire brigades maintained by fire authorities in the United Kingdom,
under the Fire Services Acts to date.

Widows of fire-fighters or former fire-fighters are also eligible.
